because it is one of the greatest songs ever done by any band ever. I would try to quantify it better but when it comes to this particular tune I am too attached to analyze.
But I guess the plain truth is I am a Meddle and after fan more of a before Meddle fan. Sorry Syd.

(except for maybe the song title).
One of These Days has the best build-up and climactic section of any Pink Floyd song, imo.
If you ever get to hear it played outside, with a real wind blowing around you, it's an almost life-altering experience.
