The road conditions in Rochester as of 45 minutes ago:
Probably very near 20" on the ground, still snowing but of less intensity than several hours ago.
Several landslide communities are in the 25"-30" range.

(14,946 posts)East of Saratoga here. 12-18" as predicted but temperature change gave us lots of freezing rain/sleet. Maybe 6-8" of snow. Waiting for the roads to get plowed and salted before I head out. A 2 hour drive in normal conditions will probably take me 2 1/2 to 3 today.
Once I get to the thruway I'll be fine, it's the smaller roads that concern me.

The Ohio turnpike remains closed this morning from a 50 car pileup.

(14,881 posts)The reality was downpour, sleet and about 1-2 inches.
Also, the prediction of 19 degrees this am turned into a reality of just below freezing. Big relief here.
It's been pretty blustery throughout.
