So if you have a friend of a friend who is going to court in two weeks for a DUI

and his facebook page is all about him getting a ticket for being drunk in public in Hawaii *and so forth*, how would you go about bringing this to the attention of the courts in California?

This dude's a hoser and I hope they throw the book at him.

Drunks can be a-holes, let's hope this DUI is a wake-up call. I think with the first DUI they are ordered to go to AA.

If he's racking up these kinds of violations this fast, it's inherent-fact he has a problem. Minimally he belongs in court-ordered rehab to get his drinking issues under control.

call your local chapter of MADD, they'll call the local chapter of MADD. They generally make a point of having a good relationship and connection to the prosecutor who handles those cases. More than that, they'll show-up to the hearing and judges hate that they show up because they keep notes on who's soft on DUIs.

We had to do this to my mother's former personal assistant because she got like 4 DUIs then continued to drive around drunk on her suspended license and we figured that if we didn't interfere the judge would let her off again and she'd eventually kill someone. they gave her one of those breath-start things and she just started borrowing other people's car to avoid it. MADD sent their own lawyer and asked to address the court during sentencing...she got the max (2-years), not the minimum (90-days) and you usually have to nearly kill someone to get the max in CT on a DUI.

It is getting where I am afraid to drive at night - there are so many drunks killing people. The last accident, the drunk guy had head-ons with two different cars.
