The Witch Bottle

Witch bottles were sometimes filled with tangled thread following a superstition that spirits could only travel in straight lines. The knotted up, tangled thread represented a labyrinth that the bad spirit of the witch could not penetrate. Here is my witch, my Baba Yaga, in a trap, untying the knots. She will get out soon, and then you are in for trouble.

The "My Good Babushka" watermark is not on the painting, it is for security purposes only, nor does it have black bars on the sides. It is an original painting, acrylic on acid-free paper 8" x 10".
I do plan on getting prints made of this, eventually, if it ever gets warm enough to go outside again. I have a backlog of 10 paintings I've done over the winter that I just can't fathom taking across town to the print shop...the print shop should be closer.
