(904 posts)I've probably seen every episode of Star Trek...and that's including every series.
Yeah, I have no life.

(66,386 posts)Check the television topic threads; there's likely to be a Trek fan group there. If not, hang out here in the Lounge. Lots of Trek fans here. Plenty of fans, including me, of George Takei, as well.

Enterprise and TNG with DS9 and Voyager bringing up the rear.
I was old enough to have seen it but don't remember watching the Animated series.
welcome to DU!

(12,022 posts)Only the original, though. Not the Next Gen.

(3,709 posts)Will admit to watching the original when it was aired (I was very young...). Fan of all the series... loved and liked the movies, and I love the remake...
So... I am a Trekkie! On edit... oops... Callmecrazy is right, it's probably Trekkers.... I get confused. I'll answer to both!!!
Welcome to DU!

(684 posts)but DS9 has the best villain hands down!
GUL DUKAT!!!
Generic Brad
(14,275 posts)I have seen the original series 6-7 times, DS9 twice, Enterprise once, and am finishing up Voyager for the second time. I've seen each of the movies 5-10 times.
I guess I could be considered a Trekkie.

(14,275 posts)I originally resisted watching it because I thought it was a rip off and I could not imagine much adventure taking place at a location that just sat there. Was I wrong!
The character development is fun to watch. Watching Sisko transform over time is worth the ride alone. Gul Dukat is hands down the best Star Trek villain of all time. The Odo/Kira relationship is at times heartbreaking and then exhilarating. It also had cliffhanger endings and was more of a soap opera at times. I enjoyed the story arcs that spanned multiple episodes. In my view, the writing was just better.

Jetboy
(792 posts)in space.
Trail Boss Gil Favor- Captain James T Kirk
Ramrod- First Officer
Scout- Navigator
Cook (and trail doctor)- Chief Engineer and Doctor
Flank and Swing- Other Star Trek regulars
Drover- Star Trek Non-regular (look for 'em to not be alive at the end of the show in many cases)
Spock and Bones both appeared on Rawhide at one time or another. Rawhide was trail blazing (pun intended) in it's own way having the first African American regular cast member of a TV Western in Raymond St. Jacques.

(18,494 posts)We're currently re-watching EVERYTHING Star Trek in chronological order, on Netflix. We started with Enterprise and now we're up to 3rd season Original Series. With some of the Time Travel plots we might have to fudge the chronological order "a wee bit," but we didn't want to put the reboot movies before TOS.
I have a Next Generation one-piece medical uniform in my closet I'll probably never fit into again. Boy, did I look good in it in my twenties, though.

(27,677 posts)for the most part. There are good eps and bad ones but most of all I appreciate Roddenberry's optimistic vision of a better future.
Mission Log is a podcast created by Gene's son, though he's not the primary on-air talent. They're going through every single episode in chronological order and providing commentary. It's my favorite podcast. Episodes are once a week and they just concluded the original series.

(15,222 posts)I think Gene Roddenberry was brilliant. I mean, just look at all of the stuff in the original series that is now commonplace in society!
I am old enough to have watched the original series when it was on after school in the early seventies. I loved TNG and DS9. Beyond that, I didn't watch much else.
I saw the first Star Trek Movie prequel with the young Kirk and Spock, etc., and I did not like it at all. Total fluff IMHO.

(24,146 posts)i would love to have tea with janeway and i'm pretty sure i'd lose a shouting match with sisko (nothing but for sisko).
my favorite episode of the series i've watched is the one in tng where everything is ruined forever. everything is broken, picard is stuck in the turbolift with those kids, troi is the senior officer on the bridge and worf is playing midwife to keiko.

(46,335 posts)Been to a grand total of one convention, the infamous 1976 Chicago con.
Heard rumors there about that kid who made "American Graffiti" making a space movie.
Saw Shatner hit in the face with a pie.
But I was 6 years old when Trek started, and the monsters scared the potzriebe out of me!
Was furious when I heard about NG.
Then delighted.
Only liked ONE episode of "Enterprise," the two-hour Mirror Universe episode.
