Just finished watching season 2.
In episode 26, Frank goes to the opera to meet Raymond Tusk. Frank is first seen sitting in the audience as the soprano singing Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) comes to the end of her big Act 2 aria, Un bel di vedremo. Frank exits the house before the aria ends and heads backstage to an underground passthrough where Tusk awaits him. The music heard faintly in the background is the Act 1 duet, Bimba dagli occhi.

(24,396 posts)the unconsidered consequences of the actions by some of the characters. Lots of holes in the plot.
For instance, in Season 1, Frank Underwood kills a drunken Congressman by leaving him in the Congressman's car with the motor running. The Congressman is sitting in the front passenger seat. Underwood has been driving. Before he leaves the scene, Underwood wipes down the steering wheel, door handle etc so his fingerprints won't be on the car. But if the police are going to check for fingerprints, wouldn't the fact that there were no fingerprints of any kind on the driver's side of the car tell them that something was amiss with the crime scene? Maybe Franks prints are gone and he's safe, but why would the investigation into the death not be ongoing?

(60,010 posts)Lucas is viewing the video tape of Zoe's "fall" in the subway, right?
but if that is from a security camera, why doesn't the camera record her standing and talking to Frank, and her walking around the corner
of wall where Frank has ducked to?
Or even of Frank getting to the area first?
and no one even went to the location to see where she had suddenly sprang from?
All Lucas is shown is a 5 second vid. of her falling.

(36,827 posts)Underwood has friends in the police dept which is why the investigation went nowhere. Zoe starts to inquire about the holes in the investigation which is why Underwood kills her.

(24,396 posts)Consider that Frank has murdered two people in the first two seasons! How many Congressional leaders might THAT be true of? His whole rise to power in Season 1 was cartoonish and quite unbelievable.
But, it's TV.

(130,964 posts)Saw it last night, but didn't notice the screw-up! Un bel di is the only aria in Madama Butterfly I care for, and noticed difficulty in hearing the music from backstage.
As they weren't portraying the entire opera, maybe it wasn't actually an Oops, but just 2 fillers?

(130,964 posts)Soprano didn't appear to be dressed in costume (difficult to tell, of course,) so my impression was it was just a couple of 'random' pieces.
