A childhood memory of a performance from a Spanish guitarist

So, I was still a kid, maybe 9, maybe 11. Those are my fallback years when I really don't remember how old I actually was. But I knew it was going to be an exceptional experience because someone took me to see a musical performance. I just know it wasn't my parents who took me because field trips were just not the kind of thing that my two busy parents had time to do.

I was excited to go because the event was in an auditorium and I was expecting all kinds of colorful dance numbers because I did take ballet classes and had managed to make it through the year a couple of times to perform in the big number. So, imagine my disappointment when the curtains opened and the only thing on the stage was this drab looking stool. Yet, people were applauding widely and out comes this hippy looking guy with long brown hair. He never said a word. He just sat on that stool and for the next hour or so played classical Spanish guitar like I have never heard before. His fingers were so fast, moving across those strings that the notes filled the stage.

I was in awe. I had never heard music played to such perfection.

The performance amazed me so much that I remembered the guys name, Ben Bolt. I found him on youtube. He's older, looks more distinguished than the hippy performer with classical talent that I remember. He's also a little slower on the strings, but still a joy to hear.

If anyone comes across his earlier performance on youtube, please post and PM me.
