Deadman's Curve is a Jan & Dean hit record from 1964.
"I was cruisin' in my Sting Ray late one night,
When an XKE came up on the right,
He pulled down the window of his shiny new Jag,
And challenged me there and then to a drag,
So I said "You're on, buddy, my mill's runnin' fine,
Let's come off the line now at Sunset & Vine,
But I'll go you one better if you got the nerve,
Let's race all the way..to Deadman's Curve"
Deadman's Curve, is no place to play now
Deadman's Curve, you'd best keep away now
Deadman's Curve, I can hear them say now
Won't come back from Deadman's Curve
That's all I can remember ..there are more lyrics.
They don't write songs like that anymore!
Deadman's Curve was written by Brian Wilson, Artie Kornfeld, Roger Christian, and Jan Berry
Two years later,in 1966, Jan Berry had a near-fatal accident when he crashed his Sting Ray
into a parked truck on North Whittier Drive, outside a house once owned by Roman Polanski.

In 1961, The Wilson brothers, Dennis, Carl, & Brian, plus their cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine had their first hit, "Sirfin", as members of "The Pendletones".,,recorded by the small label
Candix Records.
Later that year, without the band's knowledge or permission, Candix changed the name of the band to The Beach Boys.
The Beach Boys performed their first major live show at the Ritchie Valens Memorial Dance on New year's Eve 1961, following a set by Ike & Tina Turner.
