There's also a picture of me standing beside a black helicopter, which probably worries me more, even though I was wearing a hat and big aviator reflective sunglasses.
How about two of my dogs? I just posted these in another DU group, so it couldn't hurt...

(38,322 posts)Even when they are sincerely food thieves, garbage tippers, and shoe chewers, as red dog often is. She also eats rats, mice, gophers, and many insects... whole.
She's the worst dog I've ever invited into our pack, and I've known some bad ones, including one dog who captured a UPS truck for me, jumping inside and refusing the driver entry until he'd passed my inspection. That dog was an Australian Shepherd mix. Red dog is even more dingo than that.
Fortunately red dog kisses up to the humans she likes and avoids those she doesn't. Otherwise she wouldn't have been adoptable.
She sings too.
capturing the UPS truck.
I'm glad Red Dog has you!
Take me as I come, 'cause I ain't fakin'.

Cheech, he's a collector of Germs' art, met him a coupla times now, he's a good guy.
BTW, the piece behind us is by Germs, it's a tribute to the late Magu, a founder of the Chicano Art Movement and Germs' mentor.

(297,503 posts)GReedDiamond logo. Very Interesting!

You and Cheech look Fine! Germ, too.
GReedDiamond
(5,316 posts)...I've never heard of Reed Diamond, I just looked him up on wikipedia. Never watched any of those shows.
I mostly watch reruns of "Pawn Stars" and "Ancient Aliens" on the "History" Channel.
And, if I actually had the animated logo, I woulda posted it, but it's currently in my "future projects" folder, when I get to global corporate entertainment industry mogul level (currently not likely).
Thanks for the encouragement on the "looks" thing...it ain't easy being an old punk rocker. Fortunately for Germs, he's only 30-something, so he's got a lot of mileage left in him.

"Born on the Cancer/Leo cusp (making him super creative and romantic) to Mexican-born parents, 27-year-old Chicano artist Jaime Zacarias is most popularly known on the streets as Germs, a nickname coined by the kids he used to skate with as a youngster growing up in Watts."

I've never seen this interview from 2008 before.
I'm the "Timothy Kumuro" referred to, but my last name is mangled in the spelling department.
And I designed/built/"maintain" Germs' web site at germs4u.com. It could use some updating...
Thanks Cha, and best wishes.

(53,339 posts)I'm glad your uncles made it. Too many people didn't--on our side, on the other side, the civilians caught in the middle... I was Army Infantry, so I knew more than 60 guys who died there. For nothing...
I'll bet your uncles appreciate what a fine niece they have.

(34,648 posts)My favorite died of alcoholism, the war messed him up. I'm glad you made it too. This'd kids you work with need you. They are so beautiful, it's nice to see you all together. Looks like America.
pinboy3niner
(53,339 posts)A lot of us--including me--were messed up by that experience.
These kids are a joy to me. They constantly ask me questions, seeking my "wisdom." But the truth is that I learn far more from them than they learn from me.
Here's another pic of me taken by one of a previous generation of Lancaster HS students when they sponsored a week-long display of a halfscale replica of the Wall on their campus. I was wrong in thinking their interest would wane. The pic was taken on the last day, just before takedown of the Wall, and they were STILL asking me questions about it all...

(34,648 posts)I'm saving it. I'm a photo thief.
I glad you enjoy the kids as much as they love you, thanks for sharing with them, we need the kids to know our history, good, bad, and ugly.

(53,339 posts)Pinboy 39 was my last radio callsign in-country. Military radio protocol adds an 'r' to 'nine' to better distinguish it from 'five.' Thus, pinboy3niner.
Yeah, that war didn't affect me profoundly at all.

(297,503 posts)with you and pinboy3niner, teaching you how to post your pic. What a fun thing to be able to do, huh? I learned not too long ago after being clueless for soooo long!
Full disclosure.. we have awesome turtles here on Kaua'i, bravenak, but the only pic I could find that was big enough for my FB Cover was in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.. which is where my son-in-law is from.

(4,756 posts)As my splotchy apron admits. We wear white not to show our cleanliness but because it's the easiest to clean!
I'll cheerfully admit I'm a man of a primal bent, aware (if not susceptible) to deeply wired biological drives, of which food is only slightly behind breathing

(4,756 posts)We exist, to put it bluntly, to fuck - and we need to keep ourselves alive long enough to do so.
It's an interesting observation on deeply biological traits; all the cooks I know are nakedly sexual, openly horny, all the time (women included and there's actually a LOT of them in kitchens). Also prone to serious substance abuse problems, probably comes from the stress. It was a slow night and I'm drinking already! Oh, did I mention we consider it entirely socially appropriate to get plastered on Monday nights? It's not much like the home cook's world.
fizzgig
(24,146 posts)i know about you lot. plenty of fun, plenty of mess.
and it's entirely appropriate to get smashed in my kitchen any time

(4,756 posts)I was out at my friend's show in Williamsburg and got a bunch of Brooklyn musicians and artists openly alarmed at how fast I was hitting the kegs...I poured and chugged Bud #5 (at the end of the first hour), looked at them cooly, and said "I cook". I ended up being the only one sane enough to hail a cab that night.
Though, knives and booze are a REALLY bad combination.

(19,288 posts)And was pretty uncomfortable with it. My hair has been long ever since. I'm almost 60 so I need layers and can't go too long or my friends start in with the subtle comments about looking dated and old. They mean well and I can take a hint.

(18,837 posts)This photo may or may not look familiar to some of you. I've posted it on DU before, and I "used to be" DUer Amerigo Vespucci. I had a combination of a killer virus / hardware failure / who the hell knows around November 1st. Since I lost EVERYTHING...User IDs, Passwords, etc...I couldn't ask Skinner to reset my password because I didn't remember what email address I used to sign up for the account.
SO...I was Amerigo Vespucci, and I became Miles Archer.
There you have it. Photo is about 2 years old, I still pretty much look exactly like this. I generally don't have a lot of photos taken of me.
