because he couldn't get up Franklin Street from Estes at 1:30 PM. Had to walk home--no coat (such a
California boy)--fortunately not far.

This is what our back deck looks like at 5 PM. I'd say 4 inches is a good estimate:

Don't tell anyone but I'm actually kind of jealous of the snow. Just wet, cold and muddy here.

I'm across the river from Disgusta, GA. The difference is that our white stuff is frozen rain, instead of snow. It has been icing over since dawn. The power has been on and off all day. The longest stretch was 5 hours--all afternoon. Luckily, I have a pretty good supply of firewood. Had I waited half an hour, I could have heated my soup for dinner in the microwave, rather than in my camping mess kit in the fireplace. Oh well. It was kind of fun to camp indoors. Here's hoping the power remains on for good this time...

Lots of branches and twigs to clear out of the yard once this mess is over.

and read a good book, while sipping brandy and puffing on a pipe (at least the latter two are part of my ideal indoor, bad weather pursuits). Stay warm and cozy, please.

Now we are at maybe 4" or so, and it's still coming down. I'm west a tad west of 95, so unsure if I will get the change over or not (95 is the magical "line" for changeover), but either way, we are in for a mess with stuff falling for most of the day.

I'm actually STUNNED that my office has already announced closure for tomorrow until noon. I suspect that will get updated in the morning for the rest of the day, but we will see.

My boxer pup just went outside to potty. I guess I didn't need to buy the snow shovel. She seems to be enjoying "shoveling" with her snout.
