Russian Man Spends 6 Months Living In the 10th Century

"Most of us like reading stories about ancient times and fantasize that our ancestors’ lives were easy and romantic, but were they really? 24-year-old Russian man Pavel Sapozhnikov decided to see what his ancestors’ lives were really like by spending 6 months living in 10th-century conditions."

I find this sort of thing fascinating. Lots of pictures at the link.

I cannot imagine ever doing that!

A friend of mine in England spent a month living in a re-created Iron Age village. They did everything from scratch, including building their own huts. She has back trouble and was in agony the first week, so they let her husband sneak her in an air mattress to sleep on, but she had to cover it with straw and a hide.

The Russian man is one tough guy!
