Hate to see you go. I read through the other thread... and I have to say it pisses me off to realize we cannot vent our anger or frustrations about serious topics without having the discussion turn into a contest as to who is right. The lack of maturity and inability to comprehend what is being discussed is disheartening.

I, too, am a writer... trying to get published, and I've seen fifty... I refused to allow anyone to categorize me. The South bashers here want to make me a redneck because I was born in SC. They can't do and neither can anyone else. Would I have taken the million dollars and hide my gender? I'm not stupid... but then I would have used my new-found bully pulpit to fight against it. The fact is we will be victims of whatever labels people choose to give us, unless we fight back. All the Southern bashers can call me what they want, but I will not allow them to define me.

DU is no different from any other site on the Internet... there will always be those who hide behind their user name to exert their opinion in order to feel superior. It would be nice to think that as Democrats, we would be different when discussing things that should be common to us all but human nature and anonymity don't allow that.

Sorry for my little rant... I hope you won't be gone long... have always enjoyed your posts.

23. I have found that not posting in GD

and deleting it from the list in your latest threads does wonders for my enjoyment of DU. That said however, I mostly just lurk now and post just a couple of times a week as opposed to several daily as in the past. When renewal comes around... well we will see.
