Tammi died so young, from cancer at 25.

"Your Precious Love", "If I Could Build My Whole World Around You", "You're All I Need To Get By", "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing".

Here they are live on Johnny Carson.

An aunt of mine used to book a lot of Motown acts at her (very shady) nightclub in Boston in the 1960s and became close with Tammi. She told me once that Tammi was much younger than reported and that her death was actually caused by foul play, but covered up by the Motown PR machine.

No idea if that's true. My aunt was well into her 80s when she opened up to me about her Motown experiences. While she gave me all kinds of specific info on Tammi, at the same time, she couldn't remember the name of "that act with the three skinny girls who let the bossy one stand in the middle and do most of the singing."
