3. RIP Russell Johnson

One of the few who achieved a type of immortality by playing a character on an iconic tv show. Millions of people know who the Professor is and many millions in following generations will get to know him too.

I kind of like to think he's now on the SS Minnow with First Mate Gilligan, Captain Jonas Grumby and the happy couple Thurston Howell III and Eunice Lovelle Wentworth Howell. Waiting for the arrival of Ginger and Mary Ann so they can get underway for a 3 hour tour.

the MST3K ConventioCon ExpoFest-A-Rama 2: Electric Bugaloo in 1996. He gave a great (and very funny!) talk, and he was awesome!

He was a special guest because he was in the movie This Island Earth, which had gotten a good riffing.

Heard on the news that he was a combat pilot in WWII and was seriously hurt when he was shot down by the Japanese. He came home and studied acting under the GI Bill.

Him and Dave Madden gone on the same day...one more little slap in the face by mortality.
