I don't know if it has to do with the Christie situation but the locals in my community seem restless. At 6:25 I was sitting down to eat my Turkey Chili from Paneras when the doorbell rang. The doorbell never rings, unless there's a delivery and usually I can hear the truck rumbling into the street. This was not the case. When I went to the door there was no one there.
So, I checked the security cameras. (Yes, I installed them anticipating this kind of scenario). The cameras captured a young lad of nine or eleven (It's so hard to tell with boys) He wore shorts, a shirt and flip flops. Could have been a parochial uniform--I have to check to make sure. He crept up to the side windows and peeked into the house, where he had to see me sitting on a sofa seat watching television. Then he rang the doorbell and ran.
On another camera I saw him and two other boys run to a nearby street before all of them headed down further down the road. Can't say for sure if they were from this neighborhood because there has been a lot of activity with cars coming and going. That's not usual because it's a small residential community.
Oh, btw, I believe one of the first people to peel down the street was a man.
I know this kind of pranking is normal in normal neighborhoods, but I wouldn't categorize this community as normal at all.

(46,736 posts)Of course, if we weren't fraudulently misled during the city review of the final phase of our development, I would be living in a gated community, today.
We'll see if it escalates. Today I heard that my sister's house got hit by a burglar, but they live in Miami. Incidentally, I told my sister that maybe I wasn't so crazy installing the cams in my house and she said, "Well, it's not crazy for Miami but I don't see what use they would have in a quiet suburban area in Orlando."
Yeah, right.

(46,736 posts)I had a chance to look at all the cams. The kid wore shorts that covered his knees, a sweater that may have been a hoodie and sneakers that may have been too large for him. Short dark hair and he was caucasian. There was a grown man that scuttled away as the boy approached the door. Another boy was them and they all ran in the same direction.
