Need to vent about dead beat parents

My nieces dad refuses to send any money to support his kids. Her mother my step sister works full time but is still struggling to survive. Well last night my niece was telling me she's down to one bra and her mom can't afford to get her any so she was trying to stitch up some of her old ones. Well today I took my niece out and got her a bunch. What is it about some people he feel he can father children walk out and take no responsibility for them.

Took me 6 years, two detectives and a night in jail for him to cough up the funds. Haven't seen nor heard from him since...nor have the daughters.

I believed the BS he spun about his dreams of fatherhood and all, when we were young (21). Guess reality didn't match up to his dreams, so he decided he could walk. Wonder if there'd been a boy, or if one girl wasn't permanently disabled, would it have been different?

I blame California, in part. The culture there is profoundly anti-family, esp. in Silicon Valley, where the Libertarians run wild and the drug culture still lives.

I had an uncle who refused to pay child support following a divorce - it infuriated my dad (his brother), who pretty much took over the role

all I can think of is these people hate their ex more than they love their children
