I grew up in Southern Michigan. Did anybody else do this?

Bumperjumping -- though we were in the 'burbs and usually had to grab on to the bumpers of cars at
a stop sign (usually hoping that the driver hadn't seen us).
.
BTW... they're almost certainly "skiing" on their feet -- not sliding on their asses (OUCH!!!).

and slingshot you off on your own (probably the most fun).

BIGGEST concern -- it had to be right after a snowfall and before they scraped the
roads so that you didn't hit a dry patch of road. THAT would be dangerous.

You can also hang onto to the back of snowmobiles in a standing position.

We never tried it, but you could probably rig up a ski-tow rope for some REAL fun.

we did it down here in Delaware. My brothers used to do it all the time. They'd get their friends to do whacky shit while they were hanging on. Going around corners was the best.
