wish I was good at it. I also once made a canopy for my bed using cheesecloth. I sewed tiny little silver glitter beads onto it. I have no talent for fin work but I enjoy the process.

(146,218 posts)My impetus was that I bought fabric on a recent trip.
I made pillows first - very easy. Now I am going to try for some simple clothes - scoop neck shirt and some drawstring pants.
Went to a fabric store for the first time in forever yesterday and had a blast looking through the pattern catalogs.

I tried watercolor for a while but there are so many different techniques I couldn't decide on just one for each picture I painted and I sort of gave up in frustration.
I started building a log cabin dollhouse from a kit a few years back but didn't finish. It's out in the shed where we put a lot of our stuff when we were trying to sell the house back in 2010.
I've built a few plastic models...two or three Cutty Sark ships and a couple of vintage cars.
When I was a child I would snag old cracker boxes and turn them into little miniature houses, complete with lighting (a "C" or "D" battery, paper clip, and tiny flashlight bulb). Rugs from pieces of cloth...wallpaper from scraps of paper...furniture from cardboard.

(2,682 posts)Embroider, knit, crochet, tatting is my latest. I also scrapbook and make greeting cards. I went through a period of jewelry-making but then I made so much I could never wear all of them so I stopped. I'm not creative but I'm ok at following directions. That's why I don't paint or sculpt. My nearly 40-year-old hobby is genealogy, but that's research and not actually "creative".
