Okay, smarter people who know these things. I need a teddy bear

that can be dressed up in clothes for a little girl who isn't into Barbie.

I've looked at Gund and Boyd's and can't tell if their clothes are sewn on or not. The bears at the Build A Bear place aren't as good looking, imo, but I've always been partial to good cheek bones.

There used to be a store around here that sold bears and clothes for them but that was years ago and I don't remember the label.

Anyone have a clue I could borrow?

If they're still around. They used to do costumes by request. About 10 years back, after a motorcycle crash my nephew got a bear in a leather jacket with the proper leg in a cast...

plus the kids have so much fun making their own bears.

I've taken my best friend's kids there when they were younger. I'm not sure if this child lives near you but it's such a fun experience taking them to one of those 'Build-a-Bears'. As for quality, many of those bears are now over 5 years old and have held up really well.
