(51,122 posts)Better than the ELP version.
Cheesy, but has become a fixture on Classic Christmas stations.

(12,723 posts)It, the Kinks', John Lennon's, and that is enough for me.

(3,414 posts)I always play this at this time of the year. Love Jethro Tull!

(28,552 posts).... ("Songs from the Wood" is a masterpiece, a truly original and largely unknown one unfortunately.

(3,414 posts)It is my favorite JTull album, with Minstrel in the Gallery as a close second. Ian Anderson is brilliant, IMHO.
sendero
(28,552 posts)... I never really paid much attention to Minstrel. I will listen to it on your recommendation!
My favorite JT is the much-maligned Passion Play, which musically is only ok but conceptually and lyrically is brilliant!

(26,117 posts)I think I like Thick as a Brick the best.
I think it was my first JT album (I inherited an 8-track copy from my older sister - LOL). I later bought it as an LP, and then a CD.

(5,364 posts)The chorus goes something like "...Well here's to you merry christmas and we're all having fun....."
Used to hear it in the late 80's all the time.

(29,503 posts)Don't you hate that?! It's going to come to me right after someone else posts it, lol...

(29,503 posts)Paul McCartney uses his 15 seconds to sing something like that...
On edit:
...But say a prayer to pray for the other ones
At Christmastime
It's hard, but when you're having fun ...
The Paul McCartney bit isn't on the short version, but the long one.
Populist_Prole
(5,364 posts)More guitar oriented. Best way to describe the sound would be soft, hard rock.
