nothing new. It's alright but I wouldn't spend money on it. Diamond Dave has always looked a bit silly to me but now so more than ever.

Eddie can still thrash the guitar, though.

And Dave is still silly and clownish, that's how we like him.

Not like coke or H. The crazy heavy abnormal shit like PCP and Meth.

The "looks like Crazy Cat Lady" pic down-thread looks like meth-mouth.Usually they end up pulling all the teeth and doing dentures because there's nothing left worth saving. To be fair, chemo drugs can have the same effect so it's quite possibly a result of cancer treatment.

and a big time boozer if ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli is to be believed. Not abusive or nasty, just shit-faced drunk all the time for ten+ years, said she. No wonder she got tired of it.

Michael Anthony was the best singer the band ever had. Without his dynamic they're just a Meh band with a great guitarist.

Say what you want to, but Dave & Eddie have both still got it...and Alex isn't slowing down a bit, either.

Michael Anthony? As Daffy Duck would say, "Ha-ha. It is to laugh." He's a marginal talent who was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to hook up with two of the top living guitarists on the planet. (Am I the only person here who thought that his overly-long Van Hagar "effects solos" were a fucking joke?) As a bass player, Wolfie smokes him.

I got my tickets.

No idea why they put their worst song out there first.

The new album is REFRESHINGLY FREE of the keyboards that smothered large chunks of 1984 (and MOST of the Van Hagar stuff).

It is rumored that ALL of the songs are re-worked leftover demos from the 70s, but it doesn't matter...it just grounds them in their trademarked Roth-era sound.

Roth HOWLS...he's lost a LITTLE of his edge, but not enough to lose sleep over.

Michael Anthony IS missed...not so much for his bass playing (Wolfgang ain't half bad), but for his vocals (Eddie and Wolfgang pull it off, for the most part, but Anthony's absence is the album's only downer).

I made a mix CD for the car that LEFT OFF "Tattoo" and filled the remaining space on the 80 minute disc with 9 signature tracks from the Roth era. I'm playing the fucker to death in my car. Long in the tooth, my ass. Who cares? They deliver on this CD...maybe not to "casual" fans of the band, or those who never liked them in the first place. But fans of the band from the Roth era? We're happy campers.

Fuck "Tattoo"...go to Grooveshark or some other site where you can hear the album for free and you'll see that it's one wormy apple that landed in a barrel of ruby-reds.

I cant even give them a "meh". They are sub-Meh.

The younger relative in his punkish attire merely put an exclamation point on how unfortunate their continued attempt at "rockstar" image really is.

Sad. Very sad. Some bands can keep going. Others should bow out gracefully far sooner than they do.
