To Rec or Not to Rec...that is the answer

I just tried to 'rec' a reply to an OP. Once again, I was frustrated at the inability to do so. But, it got me thinking.

We don't 'rec' much here in The Lounge. I often thought that was odd, but then the other voice in my head said that it was possibly a good thing. There is no competition in here. Out 'there' we fight for acknowledgement of our thoughts and rants, here...it's all about toilet humor and kitties. You can't pit those two categories against each other for mere points. They're both very personal and no amount of recs or no recs can change that.

Once again, Lounge, you set the standard for which all of DU should aspire to. That sentence is awful, but it's almost the end of the day and I'm not going to attempt to make it better.

Cheerio and hip hip. (Or, is that 'pip pip'?)

P.S. I will still continue to 'rec' Lounge posts, if only to be that silent voice. A whisper in the abyss. A number...just a number. I can't wait to go home.

Sometimes my head gets fuzzy and I don't notice that it says 'undo'. Then I get panicky thinking that the OP will notice that he/she lost a rec, so I have to rerec. I think my max was three times.

I've also accidentally recced something I didn't want to and then feel bad about taking it back.
