Want to know what real friendship looks like? It looks like this.

I was on the phone with my friend in Texas this morning. Some of you may have seen some of my other recent posts...there is a 95% chance that I will be leaving Nevada on or around December 3rd while I head to her place, crash on her sofa at her kind invitation, and explore business opportunities in Texas. No offense to anyone living in Nevada, but Nevada sucks...at least the town I'm living in. After 14 months, I want to stand in the hottest shower my body can stand and wash this frigging town off of me for good. The ignorance, the dirt, the "Republican family values"...I know Texas isn't blue but believe it or not it is a step up on the evolutionary ladder from where I'm typing these words, and I can't afford to go back to Silicon Valley (if I could, I'd seriously consider it). The ignorance cuts deepest of all. I cannot even tell you how mind-numbingly ignorant this town is...and the locals fuel it with trainloads of alcohol and meth. A popular local saying is "There are three things to do in this town...drink, take drugs, or f*ck."

I told her "I am a little concerned about making a 1250+ mile trip in a car that is long overdue for service. If I break down, I'll have go leave the car where it is and go wash dishes until I come up with the money to fix it."

Without missing a beat she replied "NO, your friend will gas up her car and drive out there and rescue you."

Real friends are earned. In the clusterfuck known as "my life," I must be doing something right.

or in deed.

Or a pain in the ass.

Sounds like you've found at least one good friend. Cherish it.

she can have an excuse to leave the town too. She just doesn't have anyone waiting on the other end to help her out.

Who knows? All I know is that the next chapter looks like it's going to be written in Tay-has.
