I was out with a friend and we stopped for lunch. Well there was a bookstore that just opened next to the restaurant so I figured I'd stop in. I was looking for a copy of paradise lost for my niece since she was wanting to read it I figured it'd be a nice gift to send to her. Well she takes me over to the classics section to help me look and I notice for some reason she has Ayn Rand filed in the classics. So curiously I decided to ask if it was a mistake or what. Well she went off into this speech about atlas shrugged being a literary classic and how it changed her life reading and everyone should read. Than she decided to try and convince me to get it I politely informed her I've read it and I find Ayn Rand to be a hack. Well she lost it and went off about her warnings about socialism in America becoming true at which point I stopped the lady and informed her well in true capitalistic spirit this borderline socialist will be taking his business elsewhere. Yes I probably brought it upon myself for asking in the first place.

I guess when you come from a country where the shittiest beers are still as good as craft brews here, you might wanna go beer slumming...
I fully intend to not miss them next chance I get.

(22,000 posts)But I would have bought two copies, grabbed a trash can, lit them on fire out front of the store, walked back in with my receipt and said "If you really believe in capitalism, you'll give me a refund. These didn't burn very well".
