What word comes to mind when you think of your pet? Twilight is so graceful.

She navigates my desktop without stepping on the keyboard or touching the open bottle of pop. She winds her way around everything. Then she jumps up on my file cabinets and disturbs none of the piles of stuff up there. I don't know why Darwin adaptation would make cats so graceful except if it was to make them easier to live with humans. Though jungle cats seem graceful too. It is like living with a ballerina!!!

A 25 lb Maine Coon tomcat who is unbelievably friendly, bright, and hates being left alone. We keep each other company. I call him Ghengis. Who knows what he calls himself?

And believe it or not, I am talking about a cat.

He is the consummate host, always meeting everyone at the door. He got adopted by me because of how he walked right up to me and gave me a head butt (no, not his butt in my head).

Right now, while I'm typing this, my 65-lb pit bull Orchid is trying to climb into my lap. Apparently, she doesn't think I'm paying enough attention to her.

Milo: Cuddly. He loves everybody and loves to be picked up and hugged.
Jeoffry: Clingy. He sticks to me like Velcro and doesn't like to be ignored.
Pixie: Mischievous. She gets into everything and seems to enjoy pissing me off. But she's really sweet and cute.

On Edit: He's almost 15. When he was a kitten, he was perhaps the best mouser I've ever seen. A year or two ago I watched one run right past him. He watched it as well and then went back to sleep, probably assuming the girls would catch it. One of them did.

I adore them, in all senses of the word, including the definition of the verb adore that goes: "to worship or honor as a deity or as divine." I shoulda been an ancient Egyptian, I tell ya.

She is a "heat-seeking" cat.

She wants to lie wherever the warmth is. On a radiator box, in a ray of sunshine on the floor, on my chest.

And like a predator drone, she will not be stopped from that heatseeking mission.

is the best word for my Butch. He's so easy going and laid-back 98% of the time. The other 2% of the time he chases after the things that only cats can see.

He's a lover and a snuggle-kitty, too who will cuddle up and purr and purr and purr.

Unlike your cat, Butch is very good at knocking things over unintentionally and doing the occasional near-faceplant on the couch when crawling over me.

Lilith is the princess and cat-Mandu is lovable .

Lilith is beautiful, fearless, and aloof, but Cat-Mandu is a big yellow-gold lump of lovin". They are three year old siblings.

He was one damned smart best friend. No one word can capture his resilient personality. The closest I can come to it would be laconic. This was one damned efficient dog.

Here's a picture of us together.
