I watched Upstream Color and it changed my life...

There aren't many films that I put under such a category. If you want to see a film that is both life shattering and life affirming, that will at once leave you feeling broken and more whole than ever before, I cannot recommend Upstream Color enough.

What a piece of poetry on so many levels. Visually, emotionally and musically. It doesn't force feed you the underlying meaning or even the general plot structure. You're left to your own volition. So it's also an incredible, exhausting intellectual and emotional exercise parsing out all of the different levels of underlying commentary. Almost nothing is as it seems.

Simply beautiful. Ugh, I'm beside myself.

It's about a lot of things. Love, insanity, loss of self, death, self-control, transcendence. Gravitycollapse Nov 2013 #3
