best ways to get rid of dog odors in the house?

I have no carpeting in the house, but when I come home from a biz trip, the dog odor in my house hits me hard. when i'm in the house, I get desensitized to it, I guess, and I only notice it after being away for a bit.

it's not dog piss. it's just a musty dog smell. it seems stronger near her bed.

i'm wondering if I need to wipe down every bit of wall and floor surface in the house with bleach or something.

anyone have any surefire remedies?

thanks!

There is also another less expensive odor killer. It's called OdoBan. I bought it at my local Ingles supermarket. Maybe your local store carries it.

I keep a towel, slip cover and throw over the dog's favorite couch so I can wash them. I use arm and hammer rug cleaner every so often over the living room rug, her favorite hang out. . I wash the dog twice a year, my other dogs I had to wash more often, but this dog is very cat like in washing herself all the time. My dog pees in the basement on pee pads in a kiddie pool if I am out, so that is no problem, but previous dogs did have "accidents" and natures miracle was the only thing that worked. I also open windows on warmer days.

luckily my dogs smell like warm cinnamon buns. Especially Luna, but Jake started smelling like that too.

wash the bed, use bleach (not on the dog)

Natures Miracle works on skunk so it should work when you can't wash the dog or the bed. Febreze works but it has its own stench too and I have read some cautions about its chemistry, I don't think you can put it on the dog directly - you can put the other on it.

Open the windows, change filters on AC if you have it.

I haven't tried it yet, but the first review says that it "really helps get rid of the doggie odor."

i washed the dogs last week and will try to do that every two weeks
one dog lives outside and the other lives inside but spends the days with the other one outside
i cleaned the floor and the walls around the dog bed area with clorox and then with a pet odor remover floor cleaner called wau
i washed the dog bed with detergent and clorox
i sprayed citrus magic pet odor neutralizer inside and outside where the dogs like to lay

i think it's much better now, but i need someone else to come over and tell me because i'm desensitized to it
