Kitty KELL(E)Y is on for 2 hrs on C-SPAN2 BookTV!1
Ten yrs ago on DU the word "gossip" was snooted-down on. The definition has NO dimension of UNtruth to it. Today the self-proclaimed "gossip" website, Gawker, is a duly respected source, its motto: "Today's gossip is tomorrow's news" .
My fandom for KELL(E)Y is mostly because of her book on Nancy RAYGUN, where the opening was (paraphrasing): Nothing on her birth certificate was true, not her name, her father's name, her date of birth (and on and on). These days, and assuredly when "Nancy" dies, there will be massive adulation, and KELL(E)Y's book will be about the only remnant of what most of us Dems thought of her back then.
I was disappointed in her book on the B.F.E.E., for its being softer, meaning that KELL(E)Y had finally been intimidated or gotten-to, something SINATRA and the rest could not do. There were tidbits, like how Old Babs, when she joined the B.F.E.E., had been tagged with the name of the family pony for the facial resemblance.
When she was on for two days on Today for the B.F.E.E. book, LAUER was totally, ballistically, nuclear on her the first day, savaging her for daring to do this HIT JOB, which I claim is SOFT. I penetrated the phone maze of NBC and actually got to talk to a producer that day and complained about LAUER's treatment of her. The second day, he was totally toned down, so I'll take credit for that.
On Edit: I might be a fan, but my synapses still can't hold the correct spelling of Kelley (corrected above).
