Experiment Perrilous on TCM right now

directed by the great Jacques Tourneur (Out Of The Past, Cat People). The film reminds me of Gaslight with its atmospheric evil foreboding about a husband who's trying to make his beautiful young wife seem insane. Hedy Lamarr is incredible. It's hard for me to imagine a more beautiful face and I see why she was considered one of Hollywood's greatest beauties.

Hedy La Marr was a fine actress, a great beauty and an accomplished inventor.

During WWII she invented a system of "frequency hopping" that prevented the jamming of signals to torpedoes fired at their targets. It was hailed as a breakthrough that helped win the war.

Basics of her technology are used to this day in Bluetooth and other systems.
