I MADE IT!!!! Boy did I wake up cranky a few hours ago. It took 2 cups of coffee and cranking the temps a notch to lift my mood. Also the promise of buckwheat pancakes with homegrown peaches and maple syrup to come a little later after I've fed the furandfeather family. So far I don't feel too much creakier now that I've made it to the BIG 6-0.
Nothing like being born on Mischief Night with a name that rhymes (sortof) with Mischievous and Witch!
My pony-shopping trip is a no-go. I learned last night that somebody beat me there. Breeder will contact me later today to let me know if they have signed contract/sent moolah.
So I'm back to internet shopping, which I guess is fine on a cold, raw, cloudy morning. But I do worry about my princess pony. I know she doesn't seem unhappy, especially about not having to share her pasture, but ponies are herd critters. Maybe in time for
I may head out to LL Bean much later today for a more practical, and affordable, shopping trip. The walking shoes I bought myself to celebrate graduating to more expensive than Wallies World are already falling apart. Cripes, you'd think I walk a marathon a day or something...

(14,881 posts)the interlopers confirmed they intend to buy sometime around 10 or 11 am or so. Still, mercury is retrograde with is a bad time to sign contracts, so there is still time for the deal to fall apart!
There is another lovely young lippitt mare quite a ways to my south, but I can't afford her at this point. Maybe by spring I'll be able to buy and ship, versus buy or ship...

(14,881 posts)I finished the last episode of Scrubs and then had a short nap this afternoon. It was so wonderful to take a short nap and actually doze and wake up feeling rested.
I had a wonderful ride on my pony. She started coming nicely rounded on the aids, and then she started ducking her head down and I got a little worried that she was about to have a bronc-busting seizure, but it turned out she just needed to poop Once she finished pooping, she went beautifully. She was my perfect little princess today
I'm very proud of her. She knows turn on the forehand and leg yield and is learning turn on the haunches and shoulder-in.
Now I'm having dinner of wild rice with sauteed mushrooms, onions, pecans, eggplant and spinach.

(14,881 posts)today I'm going to see if I can get some chores done, but we'll see. Although sitting around has left me feeling a little stiff and creaky, I'm liking the idea of rusting out instead of wearing out
