Every fall I go into what I call "feedbag mode" when it comes to eating. I switch from 5 to 6 small meals per day to an almost constant nosh (and I'm sure I'm getting more calories with the noshing).
I'm wondering if any one else experiences anything similar.
I can't decide if it's because of the holiday food (Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc) or if the colder weather makes my body want to fatten up to stay warm.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

(2,805 posts)I can eat the same thing everyday for weeks and then suddenly "get my fill" and not look back.
One year it might be Oreos--I'm talking almost a bag a day for weeks then "bleh, those are gross!". It doesn't seem to follow me all winter just the first few months of cold weather.
This year it has been, Tortilla chips and Hummus, chocolate almond bars and, bagels with cream cheese--tomato--and smelliest provolone that I can find (nuked for 90 seconds). I'm over the hummus but the bagels and chocolate still have a hold on me.
I just go with it because it always seems to subside on its own.

I think it is a drive we all have probably. I always suffer through this. We work outside a lot on our farm so the cold has a lot to do with it I believe but even before that I noticed the same thing.

(17,252 posts)in the Fall-Winter I seem to eat more, daily.
I crave soup and stew as the temps go lower.
I never was a dessert type person.

(55,014 posts)the only thing that "helps" is Holiday anxiety. I can't eat when I am wound up or nervous, but any other time? damn...where are the nuts, berries and fat little rodents? it's almost hibernation time!
