(35,015 posts)I plan to listen in its entirety on Spotify later - really like Honeyball, straighforward and popish but the guitar gives it an off kilter vibe that I find appealing.
Who are your influences?
GReedDiamond
(5,316 posts)...our influences? When I started doing music in the late 70s, I was mostly doing satirical/political/punk/rock with my band Benedict Arnold & The Traitors, and, after that, The Hundredth Monkey, which was "psychedelic punk." There have been quite a few projects over the decades, including experimental/noise stuff; a couple of different alternative rock bands with female lead vocalists - one of which got to the level of a development deal with Columbia Records, but that's another story; also another alt rock band - called Marshall O Boy & The Well Hungarians - with a gay porn star lead vocalist; plus several other bands you also never heard of.
This particular record has a country influence with a dash of folk rock, along with the more straight ahead rock stuff, like "Honeyball," "Zeke the Sheik," and "45 RPM."
Influences of other artists would include, I suppose, The Beatles, early Alice Cooper, Buffalo Springfield/Neil Young, early Jefferson Airplane, Big Star, stuff like that.
Hope you like the record in its entirety, please let me know what you think!
