If the answer is no, then I'll do it so long as something with a higher priority (see above) doesn't interfere.

I will try to do it - in fact, I think I probably do something I promised 70% of the time when I said I'd do it. I just won't guarentee it will get done "on time" unless it's hit the critical level.
