If you are able to sell at current value and then the market crashes, it would be a good time to buy. I'm expecting a default to be averted, but perhaps I underestimate the stupidity of some members of Congress.

I don't know what I would do in your position. I would be a little uneasy too.

so if the market drops, I'd have less value, but could buy more shares with my contribution and hope things turn around.

If it came back once, it will do so again. NEVER a good idea to sell low. IMO. I'm also over 60.

I certainly don't like this but maybe the financial backers of the GOP will start making some serious phone calls. Letting this go or much longer is going to cost a lot and not just for the little guys like us.

Luckily, we are saving it for a rainy day, and if it does shrink, it might come back, again.
