Attention DU Birders......I saw a pair of these on one of my properties.....

...here in Costa Rica a few weeks ago. They have long been one of my favorite birds and the last time i saw one in the wild was about 12 or 13 years ago....and it was circling way up in the sky among a flock of turkey vultures. The pair i just saw flew right over my head and landed in a nearby tree and I got a great look at them.

you can read about them here:

I enjoy watching the turkey vultures around here. There's a tree they roost in near my wife's work. They sun themselves in the morning, wings outstretched.

I think I read somewhere that other vultures wait for these guys to come and open up the carcass because they have the stronger beak to cut the hide. And then they eat first.

I saw a huge flock of vultures migrating north. They are wonderful birds. Thanks
