are you doing what you're supposed to be doing?

my answer is a resounding hell no.

my bestie is coming to stay for the weekend and will be here in four hours or so and i haven't started on cleaning. instead, i'm drinking a few day beers and playing bejeweled on facebook because that's a lot more entertaining than scrubbing the bathtub.

Actually, today, I don't have to do anything...

There are no pressing errands that wait for me to get off my butt and do them...

I love it!

Have a great time with your bestie!

it's going to be a food extravaganza the next few nights and i'm looking forward to it.

it was her birthday earlier this week, so i'm treating her right. new york strip, baked potatoes and salad tonight and fried chicken, mashers and slaw tomorrow. i'll also be making a flourless chocolate cake with chocolate ganache.

and i just realized that we recently had our ten year friendsversary. i can't believe it's been that long.

I'm not working, if that's what you mean.

I've got the day off, because I have to work Saturday clinic tomorrow. I ran some errands this morning, but now, I'm just vedging out. Screw chores; I'm kicking back.

I've got five physical exams scheduled for tomorrow, three of them in a row. I'm marshalling my resources...

i'm a terrible housekeeper, but my house is messy rather than dirty.

i hope you have a relaxing day off and get through tomorrow as easily as possible.

I havent had a beer since November last year. I've got some stupid disease and the pills they give me for it can damage my liver. They say you can still have a couple a month, but I was giving it a year to see if it messed up my liver before I had the occasional beer again.

Day beers feel so dirty, like you're getting away with something naughty.

I used to love to drink at work.

Will feed dogs and fish shortly, but haven't cleaned kitchen floor (after 3 days rain, and 2 dogs running in and out, a real mess) and daughter returning tomorrow to relieve me from sitting on her animals, so I DO have to clean things up a bit!

'Thanks' for asking!

Used to do (in '70s) small, walk thru kitchen with sponge on my knees. For today's work, daughter's fairly large kitchen floor full of dog mud+, I bought swiffer wet wipes, so will do that after dogs are out tomorrow morning. Been raining here since Tuesday night, and dogs spend days outside.

Will bring the wipes to my cottage, where the kitchen floor needs work, and will dry mop wood floors in other rooms when I return there, but hate to think about it!

I have to work Saturday and Sunday so I slept in and watched old movies all day. I don't get another day off until next Sunday. I did fix a few things on my new resume this morning so I got something accomplished. I'm sure that I could have accomplished many more things but sometimes a girl just needs a day off from everything.

I've been up to my bodacious tatas with work, none of which seems to be paying me anything. But presumably it will pay off in the future.

Tonight I'm lying about the furniture, as we say around here.
