I dont sound as bad as I did before I learned to breathe right, or at least closer to right. My goal was to be able to sing along with everyone else at family gatherings, and now I finally can. My speaking voice is better now too.
I recorded this Irish song about a week ago. Its a little higher than I usually try to sing. Since recording it Ive improved the higher notes and can get through the verse with fewer breaths. Oh, and with the pronunciation, Ive learned to roll rs properly and to not put the ee sound at the end of long a but to instead say long a a bit more like eh.

I recorded it wearing my cow jammies with my poodle Ty on my lap. He slept through it all but the high notes. Thats how I knew they needed work.

(12,158 posts)that it took me a very long time to get as far as I have. Singing still doesn't come naturally for me. Probably never will, but that's okay.
