Happy Nobel Prize Week!

Tonight's activities: massive party!

Astonishingly, schools have not been closed this week. However, they are trying something new this year: a government shutdown.

Yesterday was the prize for medicine and yet the hospitals remained open! If the government wasn't shut down, I'd write my congressman to complain.

Like you I had to hurry and take down last year's Christmas decorations so I could put up my Nobel Prize Week decorations. Then, we'll have to turn around and put up our National Coming Out Day decorations by Friday. We'll have a little break before Halloween. It sure is a wonderful time of year.

The rumors that the President and the speaker of the house will get together tomorrow for some good chemistry are certainly flying!

I suppose you'll all plan to read a good book Thursday for the day they announce the Nobel Prize for literature.

Finally, the week ends with the Nobel Peace Prize. The winner will join recent winners such as Jimmy Carter and President Obama.

Next week they award the Nobel Prize for economics so we get that extra day off for Nobel Prize Week.

I read somewhere that Nobel's wife had an affair with a mathematician and he ruined it for all of them.
