Fyodor Dostoyevsky and George Eliot

A friend of mine was just talking about them, and I for the first time realized that they were nearly exact contemporaries (born and died within 2 years of each other).

Middlemarch and Brothers Karamazov are pretty much my two favorite books, and yet for some reason it never occurred to me that they were published within five years of each other.

It's time to re-read both. And any excuse to read Eliot and Dostoyevsky is a good one, I think...
