2nd attempt! Ads one sees here at DU are related to what you search for.

Being a star member, I don't see the ads when I'm logged in but I'm often here reading without logging in so I see the ads then. Yesterday, I was at the Hula-TV website and after that, I saw ads for Hula-TV here. Earlier today I was looking up info on emergency food supplies and I then saw ads for Augason Farms, which sells emergency food supplies, both here (when I wasn't logged in) and at another forum I had gone to read but am not a member of.

So, those members in the past who had complained about seeing ads for giant purple dildoes here at DU, we know why they and only they saw them.

1. Before I was a star member I used to see ads for people who had the most horrible skin.

Just horrible pictures they showed.

4. LOL! I've never seen ads for toilet paper or for people with skin conditions.

Maybe tomorrow, for giggles, I'll do some reading on the internet about TP and then see if there are ads here at DU for that.

5. The other day I saw an ad on DU for John Cornyn

and "Keep Texas Red". I certainly wasn't searching for that

Or just coming to DU, a political discussion forum, may have triggered such an ad.

7. I always clean out my cache, cookies, etc, before I visit DU,

or any other site where I sign in.

At any rate, such an ad is counterproductive to the purpose of DU.

9. Google AdSense targets by audience and by site content

On a political board like DU, repeated references to opposition politicians can very well lead to ad placements for them.

8. Lately I've been seeing ads on DU for ladies' lace underwear

on almost every page I open.
