My PT made me run the entire parking lot last night, for almost the whole hour. I had to drop and give him 10 push-ups and 10 sit-ups at every tree island. And carry an 18 lb medicine ball and give him 20 ball slams at the end of every other row of parking spots.
I hurt today, but it's a good kind of hurt. The kid is positively evil, but I love him, he has helped me more than I can say.

(6,581 posts)My upper body strength still needs work, as does core stabilization. But a lot of progress for sure. The single most exciting goal for 2014 is triathlon. Imagine me doing that - the guy who was so out of shape 14 months ago he could barely walk a mile? Pretty proud of that. I'm a beast!

(6,581 posts)In hindsight, it was kinda over the top. I was just trying to be your basic Lounge wise ass.
Anyway, a ball slam is where you take a medicine ball, press it over your head, do a tricep extension with it to the center of your upper back, then bring it up and slam it down on the pavement as hard as you can, then do a squat and catch it when it rebounds up. It's actually not all that difficult even with an 18 lb medicine ball. The kid always picks out the one with the least bounce so I have to squat lower, wise ass mofo that he is.
