Do I have to say what they are?
I think I have 14 of them. I don't know 2.

I don't know the stick figure, the disjointed circle with 3 black dots which is 2 away from the stick figure to the right.
My answers hidden in white.

From Left to Right:
Star Trek
X-Men
Green Lantern
Harry Potter - Deathly Hollows
Space Invaders!
No Idea - Stick Figure
Stargate Atlantis
No Idea - Broken Circle with 3 Dots
Star Wars - Jedi
Douglas Adams Hitchiker Guide - 42
Japan!
Playstation Controller
Dragon Ball
Power Button
Zelda Link Triforce!
Leet! - 1337 - Elite

Do the command:

"TEXT"

Replace <> with []

Some reason or another,

or other things don't seem to work to show how the actual code looks.

I don't have FB, so I have no idea how to check what the two I missed are.

The stick figure is obviously in the style of Randall Munroe, author of xkcd.com. And the circle of 3 arcs with dots would be more recognizable if it were in it's proper colors as the logo of the ubuntu.com OS

The stick figure, I would have had no clue.

It looks just like any other stick figure.

Left to right, top to bottom.

 1. Original series "Star Trek" badge outline, without branch of service
 2. I think that's the "X-Men" logo
 3. Green Lantern logo
 4. Civil Defense logo? On edit, I found it... it's from "Harry Potter"
 5. One of the "Space Invaders" aliens
 6. An XKCD character
 7. Looks almost like the Angstrom symbol. Maddeningly familiar, yet unknown
 8. Three people holding hands. I saw this recently someplace, and cannot recall what it is on edit, I found it... it's Ubunto's logo
 9. I think this was a squadron symbol in "Star Wars"; Rebel X-wing, attacking the Death Star
 10. The Answer to the Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything
 11. Japan
 12. The buttons for a PlayStation controller
 13. Also familiar, but can't place it. Dammit.
 14. Universal symbol for an on/off switch
 15. Delta Delta Delta, a fictional fraternity in "Revenge of the Nerds"
 16. No clue.

16. #16 is Leet

as in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leet

#4 isn't just from harry potter. It's the symbol of the Deathly Hallows.

#15 isn't that, Revenge of the Nerds was Lambda Lamdda Lambda (and Omega Mu). Looks to me to be the Triforce from Legend of Zelda...

Circle and stars has me baffled.

I knew a guy (early 20's) that had that tattooed on the back of his hand, actually! He worked at GameStop and was a hardcore gamer.

He also liked that band where they wear giant mouse heads at the concerts. He actually had one. The internet tells me it's "Deadmau5", pronounced "deadmouse".

THAT'S why it bothered me so much!

Pity about Lambda Lambda Lambda; it would have been just as appropriate!

Leet... I see I've been pwn3d.

I can swear I know what the circle and stars is, but I can't find it on google. I even uploaded the pic, but I think the black-and-while colors cause false matching.

Top left is the Federation

Second row: first is Space Invaders, third is Stargate I think.

Third row: the Rebel Alliance, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Japan, and the PS buttons.

Fourth row: second looks like the power button, the Triforce, and leet in leet speak.
