What game are you most addicted to at the moment?

Boardgames, word games, video games, card games. Any game.

At the moment: On my iPhone it's Blackjack for me! Thankfully not at a casino, I've built up and lost $500,000 of fake money twice.

Mostly I got it so I can watch Netflix on my teevee. Just the same, I couldn't resist and downloaded the original Legend of Zelda. Playing it now, I can't believe I got through that whole game on my Super NES, in the 90's, with just the included map. Now, I keep 5 tabs on my browser open to Zelda Wikis, Dungeon maps, Enemy lists and Walkthroughs.

Eventually, I'll buy me some additional controllers so I can play the other versions of Zelda, namely my favorite: Ocarina of Time. Bes.t Game. EVAR.

As for my inherited iPad, these days I kill time with DOTS.

for Nintendo to release a Wii U Zelda. Zelda and Mario Kart are really the only reasons I keep buying Nintendo systems. My TV gets netflix on its' own and we have a 360 and PS3 for all other games. I don;t need to keep multiple tans open to play Zelda though - I just keep my daughter nearby. She pretty much guides me though everything lol. To the point of occasionally just taking the controller from me because I'm so inept.

I've enjoyed the versions of Mario that I've played. I super loved playing the OG Tomb Raider. I got through the Super NES version of Final Fantasy, back in the day. But, I purchased both the N64 and the GameCube simply to play Zelda.

I didn't buy a Wii, not because I didn't want to. I love that, for a short while, Nintendo snuck back on top by creating the Motion Controller and reminding consumers that video games could be fun. I still don't own Twilight Princess, but I will, now. Just as soon as I get through OG Zelda.

Despite my description of numerous reference sites and mulitiple tabs open, I'm re-playing this game slowly. I play until I die and then I stop for the rest of the day. Maybe cause I'm old or maybe cause I want the thrill to last a little longer this time around.

I almost always start a game by poking and punching and jumping on every square millimeter of the screen to make sure I didn't miss a hidden treasure but I quickly tire of that and just blast my way through - and then get to the end and wish I had taken my time. I need to figure out a balance between rushing through and recognizing likely spots for loot.

The Zelda "open chest" ditty is so ingrained in my psyche I get goosebumps just hearing it. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm gonna see if there's a sound bite of Zelda sounds to use as ring tones on my phone...

edit~lol: http://noproblo.dayjo.org/ZeldaSounds/ that took all of 5 seconds...I already have some old school arcade game sounds for some phone events (like a text message gets the "intruder alert, intruder alert" robot voice from Berzerk.

Hey,
I love love love the Zelda games. Can't remember which one it was, but the one with the water tower was sooooooooooo much fun and so hard, and that weird mirror black knight that took me forever to kill. I got to the very end of the last one on the Wii, but gave up on trying to kill that giant catapillar thing at end I think. I may have to dig it out just to see how far I actually did get.

Peace

I think that was the one, I have played them all so I can't keep them straight. That one was the most beautiful game. I just loved the Zelda series, the combination of puzzles, various tools, crazy ways to move around and boss battles. I just can't get into any of these first person shooters.

in Super Nintendo time my mother drew maps of all the dungeons as she played Zelda (not sure which one anymore) so that she could remember how they went.

She kept the maps in a really nice binder and they were good. My girlfriend and her friends were addicted to the same game and they'd all come over to play on my console so they could use Mom's dungeon maps.

Pretty much I've been consistently addicted to The Elder Scrolls series non-stop since the mid-1990s.

I haven't done much along these lines lately but I was once one of the best textural mod-critics and modders of Morrowind around. I still pull it out from time to time...but it's getting dated and I can't modify it any further to make it look more realistic or even as realistic as Skyrim. I think I've gotten my money's worth out of it though.

I've put my foot down...I'm not going to get ESO because I'd be so addicted I'd never work again.

When I first got it I was pretty much consumed, at least as much as a guy with three kids can be, all the time. I ignored emails, didn't watch TV. It had one of the best storylines I've ever seen as you play through.

I wound up playing it through three times to get the different endings.

The Gamebryo engine is an outdated turd. The clipping issues are the worst. I still like it, though. It has fun elements despite being a buggy, spaghetti-coded mess. I felt the same about Skyrim.

Although I was the champion of my high school for three years, I really wasn't all that good, and regularly got my butt handed to me by competent players. Found very few people to play after college, so I dropped it for about thirty years or so. Lately, I've gotten a few local kids interested in it, and have been teaching them a bit of what I know. It has rekindled my previous love for it, and I've found that I've developed into a better player as I've forced myself to be more analytical, relying less on stuff I more or less memorized almost forty years ago but have since forgotten to a great extent.

Still not really good, but I still love the game!

I download a mod that allows me to be High King and I love going around and giving orders to people. I'm the King Joffrey of Skyrim.

BTW, the mod allows one to turn NPCs into "non-essential," thus allowing one to kill NPCs, either by public execution, having the guards kill it, or doing it yourself.
