Guys, you want a cool tie that will always get compliments

Jerry Garcia. Even though he died almost 20 years ago, his art has been adapted into a line of ties. At Kohl's, probably other places. Kohl's being Kohl's, they are nominally $38 but perpetually on sale.

I have been pretty depressed lately, so I treated myself to a really cool Halloween themed JG tie today, all black with happy Jack O'Lanterns.

Every time I wear a JG tie, I get some kind of comment on it. I especially like it when it comes from a nice lady.

Holy S... You're right.
I remember him dying while I was in High School. 1995.
I don't know if I was a freshman or sophomore. Was I still in Middle school? I don't really remember.

Crap, I feel old.

I honestly know next to nothing about him or the GD. Couldn't name one song, they were really a lot before my time (I grew up in the era of Duran Duran, Tina Turner, Brian Adams, the British 2nd Wave, Michael Jackson and Madonna, etc., ie the fabulous 80's).

for an international construction company and wore JG ties nearly every day. He said it was his small protest against the establishment.

He's retired now but I was helping my parents clean out a dresser the other day and we found a bunch of those ties. They still look great!

Terrific tie, beautiful colors and a great pattern.

It has two looped tail-keepers on the back, instead of just one. And a very small pocket on the back, as well. Just big enough for a coin or two, or a piece of jewelry. I don't know what function it is supposed to serve, but I always imagine that if I got caught in an armed bank robbery somewhere, I could whisk off my wedding ring and hide it in that little pouch in my Jerry Garcia tie...

I still have three of them in my closet somewhere, I hope I dont have to wear them again anytime soon (If I did it would be because I was attending a funeral)
