If common sense was really all that common, it wouldn't be remarked upon when you see it. hobbit709 Sep 2013 #8

So "obvious" logic cannot be obvious to the oblivious.

How do you think even us Canucks get leaders like Harper, Martin et al?

Cuz common sense sadly enough, does not prevail.

I save my sanity on this board,

as in real life by keeping my arguments short when I realize I am trying to be logical with a human that has the IQ of a turnip.

On this board, 2-3 responses is my max - I do not get involved in lengthy disputes.

Walk away sooner Ida, jump into another forum, group, and enjoy your day!

I firmly believe most people come here with their minds made up already. I know my mind is made up on certain topics, and nothing anyone can say (short of new valid information) will change my mind. I see no point in engaging in ad hominem pissing matches with a person who will never agree with me. State your piece, hear them out, and move on....saves my sanity here and in real life.

out of asking for opinions even though her mind was pretty much made up already (long ago, on a different site).

So, yeah...the first part of the game was giving her side of the story and asking for opinions.

The second part involved personally thanking everyone who gave her the answer she wanted, ignoring anyone who gave an opinion she didn't like. You know...instead of thanking everyone who took the time to reply to her at all.

Her basic MO was that she was a victim of everyone in the world, and anyone who couldn't see that must be an evil moron, not worth her time.

I used to tweak her all the time just to piss her off.

she had a contrary answer to everything and anything that was posted. I mean, she could spin till the cows came home and tell you just how wrong your solution would be even though she had never tried such solution.

I think people like that are pretty miserable people.

But honestly, I kept saying the same thing over and over, with more details as I found them.

When I started reading the thread, I was "well, this is a general horrible situation" then as I found out more information, I started getting mad - it seemed pretty obvious what was going on, and the people I responded to disagree on who the person who caused the mess actually is.

Plus, since the situation involved a child, it totally tugged at me. I have a special place for kids, especially when the adults around them don't take care of them appropriately (in my opinion).

I'm judgy.

That's the best solution. I do it all the time. When your logic is met with, "YOU DUMB! YOU TROLL! " there's nothing left to do...that won't get you imprisoned or banned.

To me, it seems pretty obvious what happened, but others see it differently. I know we all come into these discussions with our own "facts" based on our experiences, but since we all love to identify "the bad people" we can quickly pick sides. I would love to say I don't get all "judgy" about certain things, but that would not be true - I have *lots* of opinions on things, and no problems with sharing them. Lol!
