(205,467 posts)That sounds awesome, LOL. My mother had a 1971 Duster, white with blue interior, that I inherited when I started driving 10 years later. Great car!

(6,996 posts)I remember the Superman comic books of the late 1940s and '50s. The color of Superman's costume was a gorgeous blue-green that I don't think has been duplicated since. (All the recent movies get it wrong.)

(14 posts)The whole science of color has always been interesting to me. I wonder if anyone has done an experiment where the participants in a blue room were compared to participants in a red room. I hear things like red cars get pulled over more. Anybody remember when Dole's handlers told him to scrap the Brown suits when running for president in '96?
O.K., too much analysis. Blue is the best.

clothes in the 2000 campaign. (Two losers. Maybe there is
something to this.)
Middle Finger Mom is one of the funnier user names I've run across.

(32,086 posts)I temped for them for several summers. At the end of a very long, hot, humid, strenuous day, the sight of that green color on the truck that would take me back to the office, was the most beautiful sight in the world when I was coming out of the swamps.

(50,559 posts)PMS 289 is also known as "Duke Blue" - the color of Duke University. The person in question worked for Duke and designed a fundraising campaign brochure for the Iron Dukes, which is their booster club. She made lots of little boxes in the brochure and filled them with 10-percent tints of 289. Unfortunately, 10-percent 289 looks enough like UNC Blue that the donors complained.

(21,046 posts)Story from my college years in the Post-Dark Ages.
Went off to college in 1972 and a guy had a Lotus Europa in British Racing Green. A street legal one. I thought that was the most beautiful car I had ever seen. Obviously, it was a rich kids' school that my parental units scrimped to send me to. I wasn't driving at that time.
Looked approximately like this without the gold stripes. I was stunned by the square rear end and the extremely short and wide rear window.
