A real one, a black bear!
I'm up at my Mom's house in northern Wisconsin, it's 6:30 am.
I happened to look out the window, and there was a black bear just sauntering down the road.
He was beautiful!
I haven't seen a real bear (outside of a zoo) since 1967 in Yellowstone!
What a treat!

I wonder just what their lives are truly like........
Lucky you!

(46,327 posts)Last year I was helping my Mom in her yard, and I saw a crow-sized bird fly by and land on a nearby tree.
I thought it was a crow, there are a lot of them, around here.
It wasn't a crow, it was a pielated woodpecker!
Was he beautiful!

(4,243 posts)I was driving from Virginia into North Carolina and I had to stop at a rest area to pee. As I'm walking into the rest room some guy asks me if I saw the wild bear eating berries down by the guard rail. I told him I hadn't seen it and as I'm walking back to my truck this black bear goes running through the parking lot. Somebody or something must have spooked him and he took off running. I was so shocked when I saw it I grabbed my phone and called my mom.
