I just saw a bear!

A real one, a black bear!

I'm up at my Mom's house in northern Wisconsin, it's 6:30 am.

I happened to look out the window, and there was a black bear just sauntering down the road.

He was beautiful!

I haven't seen a real bear (outside of a zoo) since 1967 in Yellowstone!

What a treat!

3. Yeah, we see many deer up here, and yesterday my Mom and I saw three herons.

Last year I was helping my Mom in her yard, and I saw a crow-sized bird fly by and land on a nearby tree.
I thought it was a crow, there are a lot of them, around here.

It wasn't a crow, it was a pielated woodpecker!
Was he beautiful!

2. I bet it was

first time I saw one I was about 10 yo. and it was in Marysville Michigan of all places. I was staying the night at a friends house and I went out in the morning for fresh air and saw it clawing a tree I was so scared cause it looked in my direction I ran inside shaking hahaha

4. I saw my first bear in the wild about 3 years ago.

I was driving from Virginia into North Carolina and I had to stop at a rest area to pee. As I'm walking into the rest room some guy asks me if I saw the wild bear eating berries down by the guard rail. I told him I hadn't seen it and as I'm walking back to my truck this black bear goes running through the parking lot. Somebody or something must have spooked him and he took off running. I was so shocked when I saw it I grabbed my phone and called my mom.
