I found a job ad for my boss's job

It is marked "company confidential" but certain things in the ad make it the only company that it could be for. It is a high level position that there is only one of at our location.
He told me recently, that he has no intention of leaving his job.
As his 'number 1", what do you think that I should do?

But then they might think that I am looking for a new job since it is "company confidential".

My only concern is that he has had been having a bad attitude lately. At this point, our location and department is in a pivotal position. I don't know how he would react.

Hmm, as Liberal in LA said, maybe talk to him about it. They clearly haven't decided on another person for the position or the post wouldn't exist. Are you on good terms with your boss?

For reasons that I won't go into.
I have thought that we are on good terms. He gave me a positive review this past month with very positive comments. He was the one that promoted me, about 6 months ago. Our interactions seem positive. On the other hand, I have had some doubts lately. I might just be interpreting his anxiety about our department and his position as him having a problem with me or I might be right. I have seen his duplicity with other people.

He was there when I left on Friday. For a position like his, corporate hr always oversees the firing and leaving and I couldn't imagine that they would make a special trip on Labor Day weekend.
Is it possible that it will happen in the near future? There are several reasons that I think that I thought that it was a possibility. Now that I saw the ad, I think that they are strongly considering it.
