My "default"/neutral expression is something close to a scowl. Doesn't exactly make me approachable.

But I've schooled my face to look much better by smiling a little. Over the years my slight smile has become my normal look. You really can teach yourself to make physical changes. My mother had it and I didn't want to become her.

Now I have a 2-year old and the constantly tired face.
When I was young (but not now that I am old and invisible) people used to tell me I looked too serious or that I should smile more.
I told them to go to hell.
No, no, just kidding. I would never really know what to say to that.
