It is a cool night and my window is open. University students across the way are having

a party. It is such a nice sound. Reminds me of my college days when I'd go out with my close friends in Halifax or parties with close pals at the cottage. I wish I could bottle that sound. The squeals and roars and yells and laughs are music to my ears. What sounds do you miss?

you're never too old to be a welcome guest if you show up with a keg.

We had the coolest neighbor ever...he'd show up with a keg, have two or three beers, make one pass at every female in the party, get shot down, wish us a good night and lumber home.

And what I'm about to say will probably sound bad.

I used to sit out on the front porch when I got up for work at 4am and smoke two cigarettes before I started the day. It's very quiet here at that time of the day, and when I lit a cigarette I would hear the crackling of the tobacco when I set the flame to it. I miss that sound.

I've been nicotine-free for one year and two weeks now.

Try replacing the morning sound of tabacco burning with the morning sound of your clear lungs in your mind. Thought replacement worked for me.
